Algiers, Algeria| The Algerian national men’s basketball team has clinched a resounding and historic victory at the Arab Championship of Nations, held in Manama, Bahrain—securing the country’s second title in the regional tournament. The triumph has sparked a wave of national pride and congratulations from the highest levels of state institutions.

Azouz Nasri, Speaker of the Council of the Nation, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the team, lauding the players and staff for what he described as a “deserved” and “inspiring” achievement. “Congratulations to the national basketball team for its brilliant performance in Bahrain and its well-earned coronation at the Arab Championship of Nations, thus offering Algeria its second title in this fraternal sporting competition,” Nasri wrote on his official social media accounts.

He further praised the collective efforts that led to the championship win, noting: “Well done to the players, to the technical and administrative staff, and to all those who contributed to this achievement, which promises even more success to come.” His message not only celebrated the immediate accomplishment but also expressed optimism for the future of Algerian basketball on both the regional and international stage.

In a parallel message, Brahim Boughali, Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (APN), echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the symbolic importance of this victory as a sign of resurgence for the national basketball program. “It is with great pride that I congratulate the members of the national team and the technical and administrative staff for this well-deserved title, which marks the return of Algerian basketball to the forefront after a long absence,” Boughali stated.

He highlighted the broader implications of the title, asserting: “Thank you for this title that honors Algeria and confirms the return of Algerian sport to the podium. Onward to further triumphs.” His remarks underlined how this sporting milestone reflects the renewed dynamism within Algeria’s athletic institutions.
