Nasri Meets Angolan President in Luanda: Algeria Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening African Partnerships

Algiers – October 2025 – Representing President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Speaker of the Council of the Nation, Azouz Nasri, was received on Tuesday in Luanda by Angolan President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, on the sidelines of the 3rd Summit on the Financing of Infrastructure Development in Africa. The meeting reflected the depth of the historical ties and the shared aspirations of both nations toward a more integrated and self-reliant African continent.
During the audience, Nasri conveyed the warm greetings and fraternal regards of President Tebboune to his Angolan counterpart, reaffirming Algeria’s firm determination to consolidate the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation linking the two friendly peoples. He further emphasized Algeria’s commitment to expanding avenues of coordination and solidarity at both the bilateral and continental levels, particularly in strategic areas such as infrastructure development, economic integration, and regional stability.
This high-level meeting also served as a platform to reaffirm Algeria’s active role within Africa, in line with President Tebboune’s vision of a united and prosperous continent built upon mutual respect, sovereignty, and equitable development. Both sides expressed their shared will to intensify consultations on issues of common interest, especially those relating to sustainable development and intra-African cooperation.
The audience was attended by Selma Bakhta Mansouri, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of African Affairs, and Mounir Bourouba, Algeria’s Ambassador to Angola — both underscoring the strategic significance Algeria attaches to fostering African unity through diplomacy, partnership, and shared progress.
