ALGIERS- The Ministry of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production released a statement on May 18th regarding the import and manufacture of vehicles. The note informs vehicle dealers and manufacturers that import operations for new vehicles, assemblies, sub-assemblies, accessories, and parts used in the manufacture of vehicles will no longer require documents issued by ALGEX. Instead, a regulatory certificate issued by the competent services of the general direction of industrial development will be necessary for bank domiciliation operations.
This move is part of the ministry’s efforts to simplify administrative procedures related to vehicle import and production activities. The note emphasizes that requests for regulatory certificates must be submitted to the general direction of industrial development of the Ministry of Industry and Production starting on Sunday, May 21st, 2023. The documents listed in the appendix must be attached to the regulatory certificate application files.
This change will undoubtedly streamline the import and manufacture of vehicles, making it easier for dealers and manufacturers to conduct their business. The Ministry’s decision to eliminate the need for ALGEX documents and replace them with regulatory certificates is a positive step towards reducing bureaucratic red tape.
