Strategic Partnership Under the Spotlight as Algeria Welcomes Omani Delegation to Premier Economic Event

Algiers, Algeria | June 18th, 2025 — The Sultanate of Oman has been officially designated Guest of Honour at the 56th edition of the Algiers International Fair (FIA), one of Algeria’s most prestigious economic gatherings. The announcement was made Tuesday by Algeria Exhibitions, a subsidiary of the Algerian Company of Fairs and Exports (SAFEX), which is overseeing the organization of the event.

Held under the high patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, this year’s edition will open its doors on Monday, June 23, at the Palace of Expositions – Pins Maritimes, in Algiers. The fair is being held under the theme “For a Shared and Sustainable Cooperation”, reflecting Algeria’s ambition to foster long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.

The choice of Oman as guest of honour, the statement explained, stems from the growing dynamism in Algerian-Omani relations, particularly in the wake of high-level visits exchanged between leaders of both nations. These diplomatic engagements have yielded a series of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) across various strategic sectors, signaling a shared commitment to deeper economic and political collaboration.

The FIA 2025 will feature hundreds of Algerian and foreign enterprises active in key industries including agri-food processing, energy, mechanical engineering, electrical industries, construction, steel, public works, and services. A special area dedicated to direct sales will also be made available to exhibitors and the general public.

As one of the most prominent economic events in the region, the Algiers International Fair serves as a vital platform for showcasing Algeria’s industrial development and production capacity, while promoting trade exchanges and investment partnerships. It continues to play a critical role in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) and supporting Algeria’s efforts to diversify its economy.

This year’s edition also features a robust conference and panel program, focusing on themes such as productive investment, industrial growth, and tourism development. A key highlight will be the Investment Forum scheduled for June 24 at the Marriott Hotel in Algiers, organized in coordination with the visiting Omani delegation. The forum will spotlight logistics, manufacturing, and urban planning as part of Algeria’s strategic economic vision.

The fair will be open to the general public from June 23 to 28, daily from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., offering citizens a unique opportunity to explore innovations, meet industrial leaders, and engage with international exhibitors.
