Algiers – November 2025 – The Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency, Omar Rekkache, emphasized the agency’s strategic approach in directing investments toward vital sectors that are critical to national economic development, fostering innovation, boosting domestic production, and contributing to the reduction of import dependency.
Speaking on Saturday at the inauguration of the “72 Entrepreneurial Hours in Algeria” event, organized by the national initiative “Chab Fikra” under the supervision of Anis Ben Tayeb, Rekkache highlighted the importance of empowering youth with entrepreneurial skills, instilling a culture of innovation, and promoting startup creation. The three-day initiative provides participants with interactive workshops, lectures, and direct engagement with investors and economic experts, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and the building of professional networks.
In his opening address, Omar Rekkache praised these youth-driven initiatives as instrumental in cultivating entrepreneurial spirit and supporting the establishment of new enterprises. He reiterated the agency’s policy of prioritizing sectors that enhance innovation, stimulate domestic production, and strategically reduce Algeria’s import bill.
Furthermore, Rekkache underscored the importance of involving Algerian expatriates in the country’s developmental dynamics, stressing that the agency remains fully accessible to members of the diaspora who wish to invest domestically, offering guidance, support, and facilitation to translate their projects into tangible results.
The opening ceremony witnessed the participation of key stakeholders, including the President of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Diaspora, and Cooperation at the People’s National Assembly, representatives of the President of the Council of the Nation, deputies representing Algerians abroad, members of the Supreme Youth Council, and specialized economic experts.
