On the Sidelines of ADEX-2025: General Saïd Chanegriha Holds Strategic Talks with South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman

Algiers – October 2025 – As part of his official visit to the Republic of Korea, General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), continued, this Monday, October 20, 2025, the activities of the second day of his participation in the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition (ADEX-2025) — one of the world’s leading defense industry gatherings.
During this key event, General Chanegriha attended the official opening ceremony, presided over by President Lee Jae-myung of the Republic of Korea, who extended a warm welcome to the international delegations and expressed his confidence that this year’s edition would rise to the ambitions of participating nations and global partners.
Following the ceremony, General Chanegriha was received at the KINTEX Convention and Exhibition Center by General Jin Young-Seung, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Republic of Korea. The meeting was marked by a spirit of mutual respect and constructive dialogue, focusing on the current state of bilateral military cooperation between Algeria and South Korea and exploring avenues for its further strengthening in line with the two countries’ shared commitment to deepening their strategic partnership.
In his remarks, General Chanegriha expressed his deep appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation, as well as his gratitude for the invitation to participate in ADEX-2025, which he described as a major international platform showcasing the latest innovations in defense technology.
“I take this opportunity,” stated General Chanegriha, “to extend my sincerest congratulations on your appointment as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, wishing you every success in fulfilling your noble mission. I reaffirm, on this occasion, Algeria’s full readiness to enhance and expand military cooperation between our two armed forces. I also convey my best wishes for the success of the ADEX-2025 Exhibition, hoping that it will achieve its intended objectives. Our presence at this prestigious global event — a true window into the world’s most advanced defense technologies — will undoubtedly contribute to deepening bilateral cooperation through the exploration of technological and industrial capacities and by studying the ways to strengthen our defense systems and military capabilities.”
For his part, General Jin Young-Seung expressed his honor in hosting General Chanegriha and the accompanying delegation, emphasizing the mutual desire to lay the foundations of a promising military partnership that reflects the strategic nature of relations between Algeria and South Korea. He voiced his wish to open new avenues of cooperation in the future, notably in defense technology, training, and strategic planning.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of symbolic gifts between the two senior military officials, in a climate of mutual respect, friendship, and shared determination to build a lasting and forward-looking defense cooperation between Algiers and Seoul.
