Port of Algiers: Bangladeshi Delegation Expresses Strong Interest in Maritime Maintenance Cooperation

Algiers – October 2025 – In a move reflecting Algeria’s growing attractiveness as a strategic maritime hub, the management company of the Port of Algiers welcomed on Monday a high-level delegation from the Bangladeshi industrial group KSBL, a leading enterprise specializing in shipbuilding and naval repair.
According to a statement issued by the port authority, the visit forms part of ongoing efforts to explore investment and partnership opportunities in Algeria’s maritime sector, particularly in the field of ship maintenance and repair, an area seen as key to enhancing the country’s logistics and naval capabilities.
The Director General of the Port of Algiers, accompanied by senior executives of the institution, extended a warm welcome to the Bangladeshi delegation and presented a comprehensive overview of the port’s activities, highlighting its logistical capacities, infrastructure modernization, and pivotal role in handling vessels and cargo within the national and regional maritime network.
For its part, KSBL provided a detailed presentation of its industrial and technological capabilities, showcasing its achievements in ship construction, marine engineering, and repair services. The group’s representative underlined the use of cutting-edge techniques and advanced technologies, stressing the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainable development in maritime operations.
Expressing keen interest in establishing a presence in the Algerian market, the Bangladeshi representative emphasized the group’s readiness to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Algeria in this strategic field. “Our objective is to create long-term partnerships that promote mutual expertise and technological exchange,” he noted, reaffirming KSBL’s confidence in Algeria’s economic potential and favorable investment climate.
The visit concluded with an extensive tour of the Port of Algiers, during which the delegation explored its docks, maintenance facilities, and operational zones. Members of the Bangladeshi group expressed their deep satisfaction with the quality of the reception and the professionalism demonstrated by the Algerian side, voicing optimism about the prospects of future cooperation and joint ventures in maritime services and port engineering.
