President Erdogan Departs for Algeria to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

ALGIERS- On Tuesday morning, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan left the capital, Ankara, heading to Algeria in response to an invitation from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to participate in a high-level cooperation council meeting between the two countries.

According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan was bid farewell at the Esenboğa Airport by his deputy, Jodat Yilmaz, and several ministers and officials.

Accompanying him on the visit are the Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Ozdemir Goktas, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alb Arslan Berkdar, and Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Simsek.

Also part of the delegation are the Minister of Defense Yashar Guler, Minister of Trade Omar Bulat, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Abdul Qadir Orhan Oglu, along with the Head of the Intelligence Agency Ibrahim Kalin, the President of the Presidency’s Communications Department Fahreddin Altun, and the Chief Presidential Advisors Akif Cagatay.

The visit is set to witness the second meeting of the high-level Turkish-Algerian Cooperation Council, co-chaired by Erdogan and Tebboune. The agenda includes discussions on various bilateral matters to further strengthen the diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.
