President of Mozambique Visits Algeria, Pays Tribute at Martyrs Memorial

ALGIERS- The President of the Republic of Mozambique, Philippe Jacinto Nyusi, paid homage at the Martyrs Memorial in Algiers, honoring the memory of the martyrs of the glorious National Liberation War.

President Nyusi laid a wreath of flowers at the commemorative plaque and observed a minute of silence in remembrance of the martyrs of the November 1st, 1954 Revolution.

The President arrived in Algiers on Wednesday evening for a friendship and working visit, at the invitation of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. Upon his arrival at Houari Boumediene International Airport, he was warmly received by Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui.

This visit, aimed at “strengthening and consolidating the historical bonds of brotherhood and solidarity between Algeria and Mozambique,” holds significant importance in fostering bilateral relations.

President Nyusi will also participate in the proceedings of the 7th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, being held in Algiers. This engagement underscores the commitment of Mozambique to global energy cooperation and partnership.
