ALGIERS- In a statement released on the occasion of the International Day of Democracy, Salah Goudjil, Speaker of the Council of the Nation, commended the strides that the “New Algeria” has made towards advancing democratic values. Goudjil highlighted the country’s unwavering commitment to the principles of the November 1st revolution, emphasizing that these principles are the cornerstone for Algeria’s present and future. He also underlined the nation’s dedication to sovereignty and independent decision-making.

He began by asserting that, in the realm of democracy, Algeria has been steadily accruing points and moving forward with unyielding determination.
