Algiers – October 2025 – In an administrative reshuffle at the highest level of the state, the President of the Republic has issued two presidential decrees announcing the termination of functions and the appointment of new senior advisors to the Presidency. The decrees, officially published in the latest edition of the Official Gazette dated October 14, reflect a renewed approach to reinforcing the presidential advisory body with diverse expertise in key sectors.
According to the first decree, Mr. Boualem Boualem has been relieved of his duties as Advisor to the President of the Republic, responsible for legal and judicial affairs, relations with institutions, investigations, and authorizations. The text of the decree explicitly states:
“It is hereby decreed that the functions of the Advisor to the President of the Republic, in charge of legal and judicial affairs, relations with institutions, investigations, and authorizations, exercised by Mr. Boualem Boualem, are terminated.”
In parallel, and as part of this institutional restructuring, three new advisors have been appointed by the President to ensure continuity, expertise, and strategic guidance across several critical domains of governance:

Mr. Mohamed Hammouche, appointed Advisor in charge of Legal and Judicial Affairs.

Mr. Nasreddine Bentifour, appointed Advisor in charge of Education, Higher Education, Vocational Training, and Culture.

Mr. Farid Yaici, appointed Advisor in charge of Finance, Banking, Budget, Foreign Exchange Reserves, Public Procurement, and International Payments.
