President Tebboune Chairs Cabinet Meeting: Key Decisions Announced

ALGIERS- President Abdelmadjid Tebboune led a Cabinet meeting on Sunday, addressing pivotal issues such as the progress in the digitalization process, the compensation framework for Imams, and a presentation on pilot farms.

Advancements in Digitalization:

President Tebboune urged an acceleration of efforts in the ongoing digitalization process, emphasizing the need to expedite the pace of work to transition into the project’s second phase. A comprehensive report on the progress is expected to be presented in the next Cabinet meeting.

Transformation of Pilot Farms:

In a significant move, the President directed the Minister of Agriculture to initiate a transformation in the nature and function of pilot farms. This transformation will encompass changes from nomenclature to their agricultural and economic roles. The overarching goal is to integrate these pilot farms into the national production cycle, focusing on larger-scale farms to address deficits, particularly in the leguminous crops sector.

Imam’s Compensation Framework:

The Cabinet approved the compensation framework for Imams, outlining general guidelines for their remuneration. This decision underscores the government’s commitment to addressing the welfare of religious leaders.

These decisions reflect the government’s dedication to leveraging technology, enhancing agricultural productivity, and ensuring fair compensation for religious figures, aligning with broader national development objectives.
