President Tebboune Chairs High-Level Meeting on National Market Regulation

Algiers, Algeria | A high-level meeting, chaired by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, convened on Thursday with a central focus: the regulation of the national market and the mechanisms to ensure its stability.
According to a communiqué from the Presidency, President Tebboune urged the government to guarantee the continuous supply of essential goods, stressing that safeguarding citizens against shortages and price fluctuations is a strategic priority.
The Head of State placed particular emphasis on combating speculation and fraud with the full weight of existing legislation. Preserving the purchasing power of citizens, while ensuring the regular availability of staple products, was underscored as a guiding principle of the government’s action.
In addition, President Tebboune expressed his appreciation for the active involvement of economic operators and farmers in supporting the State’s strategy for market regulation, recognizing their essential role in reinforcing national food and economic security.
The communiqué further highlighted the composition of the meeting, which brought together Interim Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb, Army General Saïd Chanegriha, and the ministers of Finance, Energy and Mines, Agriculture, Industry, Domestic Trade and Market Regulation, as well as Foreign Trade and Export Promotion. Also in attendance were senior executives from key national institutions, including the General Interprofessional Office of Cereals, Naftal, Saidal, PCH, ABEF, and the Agrodiv Group.
