President Tebboune Commends Algerian Women’s Handi-Basket Team on Historic African Triumph

Algeria’s President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has extended his warmest congratulations to the national women’s handi-basketball team following their resounding victory at the African Championship in Luanda, Angola. This triumph marks the sixth consecutive continental title for the team, solidifying their status as a powerhouse in African women’s adaptive sports.
In a statement shared via social media, President Tebboune expressed his admiration for the athletes’ discipline, skill, and dedication, writing: “Congratulations to the ladies of Algerian handi-basket, who have secured the African title with remarkable mastery for the sixth consecutive time. This is a great honor for Algerian sport. Thank you for this exceptional achievement.”
The Algerian squad demonstrated commanding performance throughout the tournament, culminating in a decisive final against South Africa, which ended with a 45–30 scoreline in favor of Algeria.
This achievement is expected to further inspire the development of women’s adaptive sports in Algeria, enhancing visibility and support for athletes with disabilities, while reinforcing the nation’s reputation for excellence on the continental stage.
