President Tebboune Commends Strategic Excellence of Algeria’s Military, Pharmaceutical Industries
Algiers – December 2025 – The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, paid a high-profile visit to the 33rd edition of the National Production Fair, where he closely examined the latest achievements of Algeria’s military and pharmaceutical industries—two pillars of national sovereignty and technological advancement.
At the pavilion of the Ministry of National Defense (MDN), President Tebboune received detailed briefings on cutting-edge developments within the national military industry. The presentations highlighted major advances in integrated combat systems, including the development of armored combat vehicles and advanced weapons platforms. Particular emphasis was placed on aeronautical technology, with the unveiling of new locally manufactured unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), underscoring Algeria’s growing mastery of strategic defense technologies. The President also visited the stand of the Mechanical Construction Establishment of Khenchela (ECMK), where he examined the new semi-automatic pump-action shotgun, widely regarded as a flagship product of Algeria’s precision engineering and defense manufacturing capabilities.
The Head of State then proceeded to the stand of the Central Support Base of the 1st Military Region, where he was briefed on recent innovations in energy storage technologies, notably the battery manufacturing chain incorporating the latest technological advancements. Presentations also focused on cold-chain logistics, with the Automotive Equipment Renovation Establishment (ERMA) showcasing newly developed cold storage units designed to meet the specific operational needs of military units while advancing the objective of logistical self-sufficiency.
In the pharmaceutical sector, President Tebboune visited the stand of the LDM Group, where he was informed of the commissioning of a new hormonal drug manufacturing plant. This state-of-the-art facility, established through an Algerian-German partnership, is the fifth of its kind worldwide capable of producing advanced treatments for thyroid disorders. This achievement firmly positions Algeria on the global map of high-value pharmaceutical technology and reflects the country’s strategic commitment to health sovereignty and industrial excellence.
