President Tebboune Extends Eid al-Adha Greetings to Algerians in a Heartfelt Address Rooted in Faith and Solidarity (Full Text and Video)

A Message of Piety, Solidarity, and Support for Palestine in the Face of Aggression

Algiers, Algeria | June 5th, 2025 — On the eve of Eid al-Adha, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, addressed the Algerian people in a brief but heartfelt televised message broadcast on national public television. In his address, President Tebboune extended his warmest wishes to all Algerians, urging them to celebrate the sacred occasion in a spirit of devotion, compassion, and social solidarity.

The Head of State also invoked prayers for Algerian pilgrims currently performing the Hajj in the Holy Sites of Islam, expressing hope that they would fulfill all the required rites in accordance with Islamic law and return home safely and spiritually enriched.

In a poignant moment of his message, President Tebboune turned his thoughts to the Palestinian people, with a particular emphasis on those enduring the brutal and continuous onslaught in the Gaza Strip. He condemned the atrocities of the Zionist occupation, reaffirming Algeria’s unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian cause and the legitimate struggle of a people facing oppression and injustice.

Dear compatriots,
Esteemed fellow citizens,

Tomorrow, Allah willing, we shall celebrate Eid al-Adha—an occasion that embodies solidarity, compassion, forgiveness, and tolerance, while honoring the legacy of our Prophet Ibrahim, the Friend of God (El-Khalil). On this sacred day, I extend my warmest and most heartfelt wishes to all Algerian women and men, whether within the homeland or among our cherished diaspora abroad, as well as to our pilgrims currently in the Holy Sites. I pray that they may continue to fulfill the rites of Hajj under the best possible conditions.

I also take this opportunity to extend my greetings to the greater Arab and Islamic Ummah, with a special thought and sincere prayers for our resilient brothers and sisters in occupied and afflicted Palestine. I beseech Almighty God to relieve them of the suffering inflicted upon them and to grant them swift healing and deliverance.

May the Almighty also preserve the safety and peace with which He has blessed our nation, and may He bestow His infinite mercy upon our valiant martyrs who gave their lives for Algeria’s dignity and freedom.
