President Tebboune Holds Phone Conversation with German Counterpart on Bilateral Ties and Regional Issues

Algiers, Algeria– Tuesday, July 29, 2025 | President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune received a phone call on Tuesday from the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, during which the two heads of state engaged in a comprehensive discussion on the state of bilateral relations and the means of bolstering cooperation across multiple sectors, according to a communiqué issued by the Presidency of the Republic.

In a climate marked by mutual respect and diplomatic goodwill, President Steinmeier reaffirmed his formal invitation for President Tebboune to undertake an official visit to Germany. President Tebboune, accepting the invitation, extended a reciprocal invitation to the German President to visit Algeria, underscoring the spirit of strategic partnership and political dialogue that binds the two nations.

The conversation also addressed the deteriorating humanitarian and political situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in Gaza and the West Bank. Both leaders reiterated their “firm conviction that the two-state solution remains the only viable pathway to ending the long-standing conflict and achieving a just and durable peace in the region”.

In addition to the Palestinian issue, the two presidents exchanged views on a number of pressing regional and international developments of mutual concern. These discussions reflect the shared commitment of Algeria and Germany to constructive dialogue and cooperative engagement in addressing global challenges.
