President Tebboune Inaugurates the 33rd Edition of the Algerian Production Fair, Showcasing National Industrial Sovereignty
Algiers – December 2025 – President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, inaugurated on Thursday afternoon the 33rd edition of the Algerian Production Fair (FPA) at the Exhibition Palace – Pins Maritimes in Algiers, in an event that underscored Algeria’s firm commitment to strengthening national production, industrial sovereignty, and economic diversification.
On this occasion, President Tebboune also officially opened the new exhibition hall at the Palais des Expositions, named the “Palestine Pavilion,” a symbolic and political gesture coinciding with the launch of this major national economic event. The inauguration of the pavilion reflects Algeria’s principled stance and enduring solidarity, while embedding this commitment within a broader vision of development and national resilience.
During the visit, the Head of State received comprehensive briefings on the new pavilion from the Director General of the Algerian Society of Fairs and Exports (SAFEX), Karim Boukadoum. He also listened to a detailed presentation delivered by the Minister of Internal Trade and Market Regulation, Amel Abdellatif, outlining the structure of the national economic fabric, the performance of economic operators in the production of goods and services, and the level of participation of Algerian enterprises in this 33rd edition.
President Tebboune subsequently toured several stands across the Fair, beginning with the pavilion of the Ministry of National Defense (MDN), where he was provided with in-depth explanations on the latest developments in the military industry. These included advances in the manufacture of combat vehicles, weapons systems, and drones, highlighting the steady progress achieved in the localization of strategic defense industries. At the stand of the Mechanical Construction Establishment of Khenchela, specialized in light weapons manufacturing, the President examined the latest products, notably the semi-automatic pump-action shotgun, presented as a flagship achievement of the national military industry.
The President also visited the stand of the Central Logistics Base of the 1st Military Region, where he received detailed explanations on battery manufacturing chains and cutting-edge energy technologies. At the stand of the Automotive Equipment Renovation Establishment, he was briefed on the production of cold storage chambers, a sector experiencing notable growth in line with the operational needs of the Armed Forces and national objectives of self-sufficiency.
In the pharmaceutical industry pavilion, President Tebboune listened to presentations on the activities of the LDM Group, specialized in drug manufacturing, and on a new plant dedicated to the production of hormonal treatments. This facility, the fifth of its kind worldwide, produces antithyroid medications within the framework of an Algerian-German partnership, illustrating Algeria’s progress in high-value-added pharmaceutical manufacturing.
The Head of State also visited the stand of the National Center for Research in Biotechnology (CRBt) in Constantine, affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. There, he was briefed on the Center’s contributions to agriculture, particularly tubular agriculture developed for the production of new fruit varieties introduced into Algerian farming, such as bananas, as well as its role in training and healthcare. He further toured the stand of the Giplait Group, where he was informed of new products and achievements by this leading player in the dairy industry, alongside explanations regarding the group’s strategy aligned with the high authorities’ directives to enhance national production.
At the AGRODIV agro-industrial group’s stand, President Tebboune reviewed the group’s performance and new products, notably following its expansion and the commissioning of new production units. He then visited the Tosyali Algeria steel group’s stand, where he received explanations on major projects launched in Gara Djebilet and Béchar. The tour concluded with a visit to the CERAM DECOR group, specialized in ceramics, employing more than 2,000 workers and exporting to over 25 countries, illustrating Algeria’s growing industrial competitiveness on international markets.
Held under the slogan “Algeria Builds Its Future,” the 33rd edition of the Algerian Production Fair brings together more than 600 companies, offering a comprehensive showcase of national know-how, industrial capacity, and the country’s determined march toward a diversified, productive, and sovereign economy.
