President Tebboune Initiates Partial Movement in Courts and Attorney general’s Offices

ALGIERS – In a significant move aimed at revitalizing the judiciary and enhancing its performance, the President of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has undertaken a partial movement in the body of presidents and attorneys general of the courts of justice. The decision, which aligns with the constitutional provisions and the organic law on the status of the judiciary, involves transfers, promotions, and terminations of key judicial positions, according to a press release from the Presidency of the Republic issued on Thursday.

The movement entails the transfer of four presidents of courts of justice and six attorneys general, in addition to the promotion of eighteen judges to the positions of president of the Court of Justice or attorney general. Moreover, the functions of seven presidents of courts and nine attorneys general have been terminated to pave the way for new appointments.

The objective of this strategic movement, as stated in the official statement, is to infuse new vigor into the functioning of the courts and improve the overall quality of their performance by appointing judges with proven expertise and experience in the judiciary.

Among the prominent changes, the following appointments have been made:

1. Presidents of Courts:

– Abderrahmane Rahmani will assume the position of President of the Court of Laghouat.

– Kamel Ghazali has been appointed as the President of the Court of Blida.

– Mohamed Guerouabi will take charge as the President of the Court of Tizi-Ouzou.

– Douniazad Guellati is designated as the President of the Court of Algiers.

– Kamel Hadj Mihoub Sidi Moussa will head the Court of Sétif.

– Slimane Hammoudi will preside over the Court of Annaba.

– Mahmoud Azioune has been assigned the role of President of the Court of Guelma.

– Zoheir Nemmiche will be the President of the Court of El-Bayadh.

– Abderrezak Zareb will lead the Court of Bordj Bou Arrerridj.

– Rédha Saadi is appointed as the President of the Court of El Tarf.

– Mourad Ben Idriss will assume the position of President of the Court of El Oued.

– Samir Hamali will take charge as the President of the Court of Souk Ahras.

– Djillali Bouterfas is designated as the President of the Court of Relizane.

2. Attorneys General at the Courts of Justice:

– Court of Chlef: Mohamed Maatallah.

– Court of Biskra: Djamel Eddine Zidani.

– Court of Tlemcen: Ahmed Djelloul Lahcène.

– Court of Algiers: Lotfi Boudjemâa.

– Court of Jijel: Mabrouk Boumâali.

– Court of Guelma: Larbi Akrout.

– Court of M’sila: Fayçal Bendaas.

– Court of Ouargla: Aziz Zaïm.

– Court of Oran: Noureddine Mahboubi.

– Court of El-Bayadh: Youcef Aziria.

– Court of Illizi: Zine Djellab.

– Court of El Tarf: Mohcène Chakhab.

– Court of Tissemsilt: El Hadj Dchira.

– Court of Aïn Témouchent: Abdelkader Ilkroudar.
