President Tebboune Mourns the Passing of Mujahid Ahmed Taleb Ibrahimi, a Pillar of Algerian National Thought and Integrity

Algiers – October 2025 – The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, extended his heartfelt condolences this Sunday following the passing of mujahid, statesman, and intellectual Dr. Ahmed Taleb Ibrahimi, who died at the age of 93. In a message imbued with reverence and emotion, President Tebboune paid tribute to “a great name and an eminent national personality,” affirming that Algeria “loses a symbol of wisdom, integrity, and unwavering patriotism.”
“God has called to Him the late Dr. Ahmed Taleb Ibrahimi,” the President wrote, describing the deceased as “a worthy heir of a family bound to knowledge and piety.” He underscored that the late Ibrahimi embodied the rare balance between political sagacity, intellectual depth, and militant patriotism, values that guided his lifelong service to the nation from his early days in the General Union of Algerian Muslim Students (UGEMA) during the 1950s to his distinguished governmental responsibilities in post-independence Algeria.
President Tebboune emphasized that Dr. Taleb Ibrahimi’s name will forever remain inscribed among the nation’s great statesmen, those who remained steadfastly loyal to Algeria and its principles. “With his passing, Algeria loses not only a national thinker but a guardian of moral and intellectual integrity whose life reflected an unbreakable devotion to the ideals of the Revolution,” the President added, before invoking Allah’s mercy upon the deceased: “May the Almighty Allah welcome him into His vast paradise among the martyrs and the righteous.”
Later that day, the remains of Dr. Ahmed Taleb Ibrahimi were laid to rest at the Sidi M’Hamed Cemetery in Algiers, in a solemn ceremony attended by senior state officials, national personalities, mujahidine, and numerous admirers.
