President Tebboune Pays Solemn Tribute to the Martyrs of Algeria’s Liberation Struggle

Algiers – October 2025 – In a deeply symbolic gesture of national remembrance, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune paid homage on Saturday to the martyrs of Algeria’s War of Liberation at the Martyrs’ Sanctuary (Maqam Echahid) in Algiers, marking the seventy-first anniversary of the outbreak of the historic struggle for independence.
Upon his arrival at the site, the President of the Republic reviewed a ceremonial formation of the Republican Guard, which rendered full military honors in commemoration of the occasion. In a moment charged with solemnity and reverence, President Tebboune laid a wreath of flowers at the foot of the memorial stele, honoring the supreme sacrifice of those who gave their lives for the nation’s freedom and dignity.
The Head of State then recited Al-Fatiha, the opening chapter of the Holy Qur’an, in prayer for the souls of the valiant martyrs whose courage and devotion paved the way for Algeria’s sovereignty and unity.
