ALGIERS- In a statement released on Tuesday evening, the Algerian Presidency announced the postponement of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’ scheduled visit to the Djelfa province. The decision came as a response to the devastating developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in the Gaza Strip, where relentless Zionist bombardments have resulted in countless casualties, including children, women, and innocent civilians. This tragic situation, marked by extensive destruction to buildings, schools, mosques, and hospitals, prompted President Tebboune to reschedule his domestic inspection tour to Djelfa.

The statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic conveyed the President’s deep concern over the ongoing crisis in Gaza, emphasizing the need for immediate international attention and intervention. The relentless violence, marked by the use of tons of bombs, has led to an unprecedented loss of life and suffering, leaving no room for the Algerian president to proceed with his planned visit to Djelfa.

“The President of Algeria recognizes the dire and unparalleled nature of the massacres occurring in Gaza, resulting from the brutal and unrelenting bombardments by Zionist forces. These actions have brought immense suffering to the Palestinian people, including innocent children, women, and civilians. The destruction of vital infrastructure, such as schools, mosques, and hospitals, has further exacerbated this tragedy,” the statement read.

As the situation in Gaza continues to worsen, President Tebboune believes that the circumstances are not conducive to the execution of his inspection tour in Djelfa. Therefore, he has decided to delay the visit until a more appropriate time when attention and resources can be redirected to addressing the urgent needs of the Palestinian people.

The postponement of President Tebboune’s visit to Djelfa serves as a testament to Algeria’s unwavering commitment to supporting oppressed communities across the globe, particularly those affected by conflict and injustice. In light of the dire situation in Gaza, the Algerian government stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people and calls for an immediate end to the violence, the protection of civilian lives, and a just and lasting resolution to the conflict.
