President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune received on Tuesday the President of Tunisia’s National Council of Regions and Districts (CNRD), Imed Derbali, accompanied by a delegation, in a meeting that reflects the continuity of close political consultation between Algeria and Tunisia and the shared commitment to further consolidate their longstanding relationship.

Speaking to the press following the audience, Derbali conveyed the greetings of the President of the Republic of Tunisia, Kaïs Saïed, to his Algerian counterpart, underscoring the fraternal dimension that continues to underpin ties between the two countries. He indicated that the discussions focused on what he described as the “privileged relations” linking Algeria and Tunisia, highlighting their historical depth and strategic relevance.

The exchanges placed particular emphasis on the need to strengthen cooperation across various sectors, with both sides reaffirming their determination to advance bilateral relations in a manner that serves the interests of the two states and their peoples. Derbali also noted that the meeting revisited key moments of joint struggle, pointing to the historical dimension of relations that continues to inform present-day cooperation.

The presence of senior Algerian officials at the meeting further illustrated the institutional scope of the dialogue. The audience was attended by the Speaker of the Council of the Nation, Azouz Nasri, the Director of the Presidency’s Cabinet, Boualem Boualem, the President’s diplomatic adviser Amar Abba, and the economic adviser to the President, Farid Kourtel.
