The special envoy of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed ben Salmane, the head of Saudi diplomacy, would transmit to President Tebboune the official invitation to participate in the next Summit of the League of Arab States, slated for May 19 in Riyadh, the Saudi capital.
President Tebboune is the first to receive an invitation to attend the upcoming Arab Summit in his capacity as the current Chairman of the Council of the Arab League at the summit level.
The visit comes two days after Arab foreign ministers met last Sunday in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, and approved Syria’s official readmission to the Arab League. A victory for the Algerian diplomacy, which has not ceased to militate in favor of the reintegration of Syria at the level of the Arab League.
Indeed, Syria’s return to the Arab League is intended to be a new victory for Algeria and a culmination of the tireless efforts of President Tebboune, who has never ceased to affirm that Syria “is a founding member of the Arab League and cannot be isolated from its Arab environment.”
Efforts recognized by Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad who expressed during his phone talks yesterday with President Tebboune his deep thanks and consideration for the incessant efforts our president had made in favor of the readmission of Syria to the Arab League.
As part of this vist, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, organized a dinner-banquet for the prince and the delegation accompanying him. The dinner took place in the presence of the Saudi Ambassador to Algeria, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Bussairi, and the Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office, Abdulrahman Al-Dawood.
