President Tebboune Sets Firm Deadline for National Digitalization and Emphasizes Agricultural Reform and Diplomatic Excellence

Algiers – September 2025 – During a comprehensive meeting with representatives of the national press, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune delivered a detailed account of Algeria’s strategic priorities, underscoring the imperatives of nationwide digitalization, agricultural modernization, and a robust, effective diplomatic posture.
Digitalization: A Firm Deadline and Transparent Governance
President Tebboune announced unequivocally that all sectors of the Algerian administration must complete full digital integration by the end of the current year. “If we act with integrity, digitalization should not intimidate us. Transparency is its essence,” he affirmed, contrasting it with sectors that operate under opacity and resist accountability.
The President acknowledged that in certain areas, real-time data has historically been unavailable, necessitating courageous political decisions in the interest of citizens. Citing the example of unemployment allowances, Tebboune highlighted that millions of young Algerians now receive these benefits without negatively impacting the state budget, contrary to prior claims and misinformation circulating in some media outlets.
He warned that sectors reluctant to embrace digitalization would face firm enforcement measures. “Digitalization is inevitable. No sector should extend beyond this year in its integration. Nothing is impossible for science or the honest human mind,” he concluded, setting a clear benchmark for administrative and economic transparency.
Agricultural Modernization: Changing Mindsets and Ensuring Productivity
On the agricultural front, the President stressed the urgent need for a shift in mentality. While the state has provided extensive support and facilitation to farmers, he deemed it “inconceivable and unacceptable” that such a crucial sector continues to rely on archaic management practices.
President Tebboune reiterated his commitment to the full modernization and digitalization of agriculture, emphasizing that the completion of these projects is non-negotiable and must align with the national deadline for digital integration. Despite historical delays, he expressed optimism regarding significant improvements in productivity and efficiency by the end of the season.
Diplomatic Excellence: Performance and Recognition
Addressing Algeria’s international role, President Tebboune affirmed the consistent effectiveness of national diplomacy, attributing this success to the extensive network and initiatives led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Attaf. He further announced the decoration of Amar Bendjama, Algeria’s Permanent Representative to the UN, with the National Order of Merit, recognizing his substantial contributions to the causes of Palestine and Western Sahara.
