Algiers, Algeria– Friday, July 18, 2025 | In his latest periodic dialogue with representatives of the national media, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune delivered a forceful and clear-eyed message: Algeria is under persistent attack—not only by conventional means, but by invisible campaigns of psychological destabilization aimed at sowing despair and discrediting the achievements of the state. “There are individuals,” he asserted, “who receive financial compensations to plant hopelessness in the hearts of Algerians at every stage of our progress, just as we strive to reinforce our national sovereignty.” He concluded with a striking appeal: “I wish them to return to the right path.”

President Tebboune’s remarks were framed within a broader narrative of national resilience, vigilance, and strategic transformation. While acknowledging that some sectors remain sluggish, the Head of State emphasized that Algerians are fully aware of the reforms and tangible improvements that have taken place across multiple fields. “Reform is indispensable,” he stressed. “And sometimes, change is a mercy.”

The President’s reflections resonated with a nation navigating a delicate balance between legacy dependencies and forward-looking strategies. Addressing Algeria’s entrenched reliance on hydrocarbons, Tebboune delivered a sober assessment: “The fate of our country must not be chained to oil prices, especially since Algeria’s production remains limited.” This remark serves as both a critique of past policy inertia and a call to reimagine the nation’s economic model through innovation, industrial diversification, and sustainable development.
