President Tebboune’s Media Exchange: Inflation Control, Electoral Reform, and a Drive Toward Modernization

Proudly commending the resilience of Algerian citizens, the Head of State highlighted the collective efforts that enabled the reduction of inflation to below 4 percent, a feat he described as a tangible result of national cohesion and sound economic stewardship.
Turning to institutional reform, President Tebboune announced the imminent revision of the electoral law, clarifying that the adjustments will concern specific technical aspects designed to further bolster transparency and efficiency within the democratic process. This reform, he stressed, is part of a broader effort to modernize governance and deepen public trust.
On the international and continental front, the President hailed the remarkable success of the 2025 Intra-African Trade Fair hosted by Algeria, affirming that this achievement reflects the nation’s robust organizational capacities and confirms its role as a driving force in strengthening African economic integration.
Looking toward the future of food security and growth, Tebboune placed strong emphasis on the urgent need to modernize and digitize the agricultural sector. “Agriculture is a science and a technology; the time has come for its full transition into the era of modernity and digitalization,” he declared, marking a strategic shift toward innovation-driven productivity.
Finally, addressing the appointment of Prime Minister Sifi Ghrib, the President underscored the latter’s in-depth knowledge of the field and alignment with the executive’s vision, portraying the new leadership as both complementary and harmonious with Algeria’s development roadmap.
