𝓐𝓵𝓰𝓲𝓮𝓻𝓼 – 𝓕𝓮𝓫𝓻𝓾𝓪𝓻𝔂 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – Petro Baraka, a flagship of Algeria’s national industry, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with MOTRIO Algeria on the sidelines of the Motrio Suppliers Convention 2026. The agreement covers the supply of a diversified range of lubricants, including high-quality oils and value-added products, in full compliance with internationally recognised standards of quality, reliability and performance.

This partnership reflects a shared ambition to strengthen cooperation between MOTRIO’s industrial network and local partners, while consolidating a model built on industrial integration, technological excellence and sustainable performance. It further confirms the growing confidence placed in Algerian manufacturing capabilities within structured international networks.

The agreement comes as Petro Baraka continues to assert itself as a leading Algerian producer and distributor of industrial lubricants, engine oils and technical fluids. At the 33rd edition of the Algerian Production Fair, held at the Palais des Expositions – Pins Maritimes under the theme “Algeria Builds Its Future”, the company showcased its latest innovations, highlighting the steady rise of national industrial know-how.

In recent years, Petro Baraka has achieved a decisive breakthrough by locally producing fully synthetic engine oils previously imported, including advanced grades such as 0W-20 and 0W-30. This industrial shift has contributed significantly to reducing import dependency, preserving foreign currency reserves and strengthening the national trade balance.

Petro Baraka’s trajectory has also gained international recognition. The company was recently awarded the Best African Product distinction at the European Exhibition for Oils and Alternative Energies in Düsseldorf, a milestone demonstrating its ability to meet the stringent technical and quality requirements of highly competitive global markets. Strategic cooperation with German partners has further reinforced its technological base, while its product portfolio has expanded to include marine lubricants, alongside ongoing development in aviation oils.

Founded in Biskra, Petro Baraka’s evolution reflects a structured and phased industrial strategy. Established in 1995 as a fuel storage and distribution operator, the company expanded into petroleum logistics in 2014, entered LPG distribution in 2017, and launched industrial production in 2020. By 2022, it had reached full-scale industrialisation, producing more than 50 grades of engine and automotive oils with a nominal annual capacity of 100,000 tonnes—covering the majority of domestic lubricant demand.

The company’s products have been validated by major global automakers, including Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, BMW and Porsche, and are supported by a broad range of international quality certifications. Its diversified portfolio spans engine oils, heavy-duty and transmission lubricants, brake and power-steering fluids, technical fluids and specialised maintenance products, alongside complementary activities in plastics, chemicals, rubber and glass.

Beyond its industrial performance, Petro Baraka’s impact is strategic in nature: strengthening import substitution, fostering skilled employment, building a resilient local value chain and positioning Algeria as a credible industrial player capable of competing under the most demanding international standards.
