Algiers, Algeria | June 22nd, 2025 — Algeria’s Prime Minister, Mr. Nadir Larbaoui, received on Sunday, at the Government Palace in Algiers, Oman’s Minister of Social Development, Ms. Laila Bint Ahmed Bin Awad Al-Najjar. The high-level meeting marks a significant step forward in strengthening Algerian-Omani relations, especially in the realm of social affairs, as both countries move to elevate their cooperation to new strategic heights.

The discussions were held in the presence of Algeria’s Minister of National Solidarity, Family, and Women’s Affairs, Dr. Soraya Mouloudji. The meeting served as an opportunity to reaffirm the depth of fraternity and mutual respect that characterizes relations between Algeria and the Sultanate of Oman. Both sides hailed the “exceptional dynamic” driving bilateral relations, made possible by the shared vision of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.

According to a communiqué from the Prime Minister’s office, the leaders underscored the importance of advancing cooperation in the field of social development. They expressed a shared commitment to expanding collaboration through the exchange of expertise, transfer of successful social models, and the intensification of institutional and professional exchanges.

“The aim is to modernize and enhance the delivery of social services in both nations and to simplify access for beneficiaries,” the communiqué noted. Particular attention was given to empowering vulnerable groups, improving social welfare systems, and advancing inclusive development strategies.

The meeting reflects Algeria’s broader diplomatic posture, which emphasizes solidarity, South-South cooperation, and shared progress. It also highlights Oman’s growing engagement with North African partners under a framework of mutual respect, cultural affinity, and long-term economic and social development.
