Meeting Highlights Strong Bilateral Ties and Shared Commitment to Boost Economic Cooperation and Condemn Ongoing Atrocities in Palestine

Algiers, Algeria | May 26th, 2025 — Algeria’s Prime Minister, Mr. Nadir Larbaoui, received on Monday, May 26, 2025, at the Government Palace in Algiers, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Algeria, Mr. John Jacques Kriel.

The meeting served as an opportunity to commend the longstanding friendship and cooperative relations between Algeria and Belgium, with both sides reaffirming their mutual determination to further enhance economic exchanges. Particular emphasis was placed on promoting foreign investment in key strategic sectors, such as energy, which remains a cornerstone of Algeria’s national policy aimed at advancing and attracting international investments.

In addition to bilateral economic priorities, the two parties also discussed pressing regional and international developments. They reviewed the deteriorating security situation in the Sahel region and turned particular attention to the escalating humanitarian crisis in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Both parties expressed deep concern over the continued genocidal campaign waged by the Zionist occupation against the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip, where indiscriminate military aggression is expanding amid deafening global silence and the international community’s failure to enact effective measures to stop these grave crimes.
