Algeria and Mauritania Reaffirm Strategic Brotherhood, Advance Shared Vision for Integration and Development

Algiers, Algeria | May 26th, 2025 — Algeria’s Prime Minister, Mr. Nadir Larbaoui, received on Monday, May 26, 2025, at the Government Palace in Algiers, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to Algeria, Mr. Sidi Mohamed Mohamed Abdallah.

The meeting was marked by a strong reaffirmation of the deep bonds of brotherhood, solidarity, and mutual respect that unite the two sister nations. Both sides praised the exceptional state of bilateral relations, which continue to witness dynamic growth across all sectors, thanks to the high-level guidance and unwavering commitment of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and his Mauritanian counterpart, President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.

Discussions focused on the current status and future prospects of Algerian-Mauritanian cooperation. The two officials reviewed the positive momentum achieved in implementing joint programs and strategic projects, particularly in infrastructure development and key socio-economic sectors.

Special emphasis was placed on the importance of closely monitoring the execution of these initiatives and accelerating their implementation in line with the shared strategic vision of both countries. This vision aims to strengthen bilateral integration and promote tangible, sustainable development for the benefit of both peoples.

The meeting also touched upon upcoming bilateral engagements, highlighting the mutual determination to build on existing achievements and elevate cooperation to new heights in a manner consistent with the two countries’ geopolitical and developmental aspirations.
