Public Works Go Digital: Real-Time Monitoring Platform Officially Launched

Algiers – October 2025 – In a step toward digital governance and transparency, Abdelkader Djellaoui, Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, officially launched on Saturday a digital platform designed to monitor public works projects in real time. The announcement was made during the opening session of a national seminar that brought together the 58 regional directors of public works, marking a major milestone in the modernization of Algeria’s infrastructure management.
A New Era of Digital Oversight and Transparency
The newly introduced ministerial digital dashboard will provide continuous reporting on the progress and execution of projects across the national territory. By allowing local officials to submit real-time updates, the system aims to enhance transparency, accelerate problem-solving, and ensure efficient resource allocation.
Minister Djellaoui emphasized that this digital transition will fundamentally reshape the operational efficiency of enterprises, agencies, and administrative bodies under the ministry’s supervision. “Moving fully into the digital era is not just a necessity—it is a guarantee of accountability and performance,” he declared.
While highlighting technological innovation, the minister also placed strong emphasis on human capital development as the cornerstone of sustained progress. He underscored the need to value professional expertise and capitalize on accumulated experience within the sector.
Djellaoui called for continued investment in lifelong training, particularly through partnerships with the Higher School of Management for Public Works and the Vocational School of Djelfa, to strengthen the skills and capabilities of the workforce.
Providing an update on the country’s major infrastructure endeavors, the minister reported steady advancement in the construction of the East and West mining railway lines, strategic projects aimed at bolstering the transport of mineral resources. He also noted significant progress in the expansion of the Annaba phosphate port, a flagship development expected to enhance Algeria’s export capacity and industrial logistics.
