𝓐𝓵𝓰𝓲𝓮𝓻𝓼 – 𝓕𝓮𝓫𝓻𝓾𝓪𝓻𝔂 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – Marking the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Algeria, H.E. Mohammad Reza Babaei, delivered a resolute address celebrating Iran’s resilience, sovereignty, and expanding global stature, while reaffirming the depth of Algerian-Iranian ties and Tehran’s unwavering commitment to Palestine.

In his address, Ambassador Babaei affirmed that the 1979 Islamic Revolution stands as the embodiment of a nation’s will—an historic turning point through which the Iranian people reclaimed their independence, dignity, and national sovereignty from a subordinate and externally influenced regime. Far from being a mere political transition, he stressed that the revolution laid the foundations for a system rooted in independence, freedom, justice, and the categorical rejection of domination.

He emphasized that over nearly five decades, Iran has demonstrated extraordinary resilience in the face of regional turbulence, global economic pressures, and sustained sanctions. Through steadfast reliance on national capabilities, social cohesion, and a highly educated and innovative population, he noted, the Islamic Republic has consolidated its position as a dynamic, self-reliant, and forward-looking state.

Ambassador Babaei highlighted Iran’s expanding footprint in science and technology, underscoring the country’s prominent global standing in nanotechnology, stem cell research, cancer treatment, and space sciences. He affirmed that Iran’s peaceful use of nuclear energy for economic and productive purposes remains a pillar of national development despite external constraints. Industrial production continues to rise, non-hydrocarbon exports have expanded significantly, and fiscal reforms have strengthened the tax base—clear evidence, he stated, of a transition toward a more diversified, resilient, and sovereign economy.

Addressing geopolitical tensions, he underlined that Iran entered dialogue over its peaceful nuclear program as a demonstration of goodwill and diplomatic responsibility, even amid maximum pressure policies. In the face of military aggression involving the Zionist regime and the United States, he affirmed that Iran defended its people and territorial integrity with determination and strength.

He further stressed that attempts to destabilize the country through unrest and the infiltration of armed and terrorist elements ultimately collapsed in the face of national unity. The massive demonstrations of January 12, he said, reflected the Iranian people’s solidarity and steadfast support for the Islamic Republic. Throughout these challenges, he affirmed, Iran upheld its responsibility to safeguard citizens’ rights, including peaceful protest, while preserving public order and national security.

On the diplomatic front, Ambassador Babaei reaffirmed that Iran prioritizes dialogue grounded in respect for sovereignty and mutual interests. A balanced foreign policy, dynamic diplomacy, and strategic engagement guide Tehran’s outreach to neighboring states, Muslim-majority nations, and independent countries worldwide. Iran, he declared, stands as a responsible, independent, and influential actor committed to regional peace, multilateralism, and sustainable development.

Support for the Palestinian cause, he reiterated, remains a central pillar of Iran’s foreign policy—both a historical responsibility and a moral imperative. Honoring more than 70,000 Palestinian martyrs over the past two years, he affirmed the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and advocated a political solution based on a referendum among all original inhabitants of Palestine—Muslims, Christians, and Jews—to determine their future and establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

He expressed deep appreciation for Algeria’s principled and unwavering support for Palestine, particularly its role within the United Nations Security Council as a voice for Palestinian rights.

Turning to bilateral relations, Ambassador Babaei affirmed that Algerian-Iranian ties remain friendly, deep-rooted, and historic, spanning more than six decades. In recent years, cooperation has intensified across political, economic, and parliamentary spheres, marked by high-level exchanges, including the 2023 visit of President Martyr Ebrahim Raisi to Algeria and subsequent ministerial engagements.

As his diplomatic mission in Algeria draws to a close, Ambassador Mohammad Reza Babaei expressed profound gratitude to the Algerian government and people for their hospitality and warmth, describing his tenure as an honor and a privilege.

He concluded with a powerful message of unity and remembrance:
