Algiers – October 2025 – Minister of Interior, Local Assemblies, and Transport Saïd Sayoud officially appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of LogiTrans, the National Group for Land Freight Transport, during a formal ceremony held Sunday at the Government Palace in Algiers. The event was attended by senior officials from the ministry, underscoring the strategic weight of this appointment.
According to the official communiqué, the decision reflects the minister’s particular attention to this pivotal public enterprise, which plays an essential role in supporting both local and national development. This appointment is part of a comprehensive strategy to enhance governance, improve the quality of public transport services, and strengthen Algeria’s logistical capabilities in alignment with the country’s economic modernization agenda.
The communiqué further highlighted that LogiTrans’s role has grown significantly following its assignment to manage the border post of the martyr Mustapha Ben Boulaïd in Tindouf. This strategic responsibility cements the company’s position as a linchpin in facilitating trade routes to sub-Saharan Africa, promoting cross-border exchanges, and contributing to the socio-economic development of border regions.
In his address, Minister Sayoud congratulated the newly appointed Director General, expressing full confidence in his professional competence and leadership to steer the company toward further growth. He emphasized the need for modern, coordinated management to ensure operational efficiency and to meet the ambitious goals set for the national logistics sector.
The minister also underscored the importance of guaranteeing regular fuel supply to the southern wilayas by reinforcing the national transport fleet and expanding service stations, particularly in remote areas. He urged the strengthening of dialogue with economic operators to foster partnership and innovation within the group’s activities, thereby consolidating LogiTrans’s role as a key driver of Algeria’s economic resilience and regional integration within the broader African market.
