Saudi Ambassador Highlights Strength of Algerian-Saudi Ties and Prospects for Strategic Cooperation

Algiers – September 2025 – The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Algeria, Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Busairi, reaffirmed the depth and resilience of Algerian-Saudi relations, emphasizing that the bonds between Riyadh and Algiers transcend shared religion and language to encompass a striking convergence of views on a broad spectrum of regional and international issues.
Speaking on the occasion of the 95th Saudi National Day, the Ambassador stressed that relations between the two nations are not only historic and fraternal but are also undergoing a remarkable phase of consolidation, especially in the economic and investment sectors. He pointed to the establishment of the Algerian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council as a key mechanism unlocking wide opportunities for complementarity between Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and Algeria’s own national development strategies.
Vision 2030 as a Catalyst for Bilateral Synergy
Ambassador Al-Busairi underlined Riyadh’s steady progress in implementing Vision 2030, which has transformed the Saudi economy into a diversified global model. Non-oil activities, he noted, now account for 56 percent of the Kingdom’s GDP, which has surpassed 4.5 trillion riyals, while more than 660 international companies have chosen Saudi Arabia as their regional hub. These structural transformations, he added, provide a solid foundation for expanded cooperation with Algeria in areas such as tourism, culture, and artificial intelligence.
The Saudi diplomat further highlighted the Kingdom’s growing international stature, citing the successful bids to host Expo 2030 and the 2034 FIFA World Cup as milestones that reflect global confidence in Saudi Arabia and its positioning as a prime destination for world-class events.
A Principled Stance on Palestine
Turning to political matters, Ambassador Al-Busairi reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, strongly condemning the brutal Israeli assaults on Gaza. He reiterated that Palestinian land is an inalienable right of its people, recalling the Arab Peace Initiative of 2002 and pointing to the broad consensus reached at the recent United Nations conference in New York in support of the two-state solution.

These statements were delivered during a reception hosted by the Saudi Embassy in Algiers on Tuesday evening to mark the Kingdom’s 95th National Day. The event was attended by Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Youcef Belmehdi, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Algerian community abroad, and African affairs, alongside political, diplomatic, and cultural figures, as well as members of the accredited Saudi mission in Algeria.
