Sayoud Charts Strategic Vision to Strengthen Logitrans’ Role in Algeria’s National and African Logistics Landscape

Algiers – October 2025 – The Minister of the Interior, Local Assemblies, and Transport, Saïd Sayoud, chaired on Monday morning a high-level coordination meeting with senior executives of the national goods transport and logistics group, Logitrans, at the headquarters of the Government Palace. The session, held in the presence of central officials from the ministry, marked a key step in redefining the group’s priorities and future direction under its new leadership.
Sayoud outlined a series of strategic orientations designed to bolster Logitrans’ standing as a central player in Algeria’s economic ecosystem and to harness its growing potential on both national and continental levels, particularly within Africa’s emerging logistics corridors.
Emphasizing the government’s determination to make Logitrans a driving force in the modernization of Algeria’s logistics infrastructure, the minister called for a swift upgrade of the group’s operational capacities and services across all subsidiaries. He urged a decisive improvement in service quality and business performance, stressing the importance of reinforcing commercial partnerships and promptly fulfilling contractual obligations with various operators. These measures, he underlined, are essential to accelerate the execution of ongoing projects and to ensure that Logitrans fully assumes its role as a catalyst in the national logistics dynamic.
The meeting also coincided with the appointment of Saïd Arabet as the new Director General of Logitrans, signaling a renewed managerial momentum. The minister’s address placed strong emphasis on efficiency, innovation, and accountability, highlighting the strategic importance of Logitrans as a public enterprise of national sovereignty tasked with ensuring reliable goods transport and fostering economic connectivity across Algeria and beyond.
Through this renewed focus, Sayoud reaffirmed Algeria’s commitment to building a competitive, modern, and integrated logistics network, positioning Logitrans not only as a domestic leader but as a regional logistics powerhouse capable of advancing the country’s economic diversification and strengthening its footprint in African markets.
