Algeria and India Reinforce Strategic Dialogue During High-Level Parliamentary Visit

Algiers, Algeria | June 1st, 2025 —  On Sunday, Mrs. Salma Bekhta Mansouri, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of African Affairs, received Mr. Baijayant Panda, a member of the Indian Parliament and special envoy of the Prime Minister of the Republic of India, at the headquarters of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Panda is leading a high-level multiparty parliamentary delegation on an official visit to Algeria from May 30 to June 2, 2025.

The meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm the strength and depth of bilateral relations between Algeria and India. Discussions focused on the shared desire to expand cooperation in multiple sectors of mutual interest, building on longstanding diplomatic ties and a tradition of mutual support.

Both parties underscored the need to intensify political dialogue and institutional consultation, particularly through the regular exchange of views on pressing regional and international developments. The encounter reflected a joint commitment to elevating strategic coordination and opening new avenues for partnership between the two countries.
