History has repeatedly shown that Rabat’s maneuvers cannot be understood within a purely national framework; they must be read through the prism of its organic alliance with the Zionist entity.
The Makhzen regime has never been a partner in defending the supreme interests of its neighbors. On the contrary, it has consistently played a duplicitous and destabilizing role, opening doors to infiltration, chaos, and dependency. Recent events, as well as distant ones, offer abundant proof of this recurring pattern.
A Trap Disguised as Cooperation
For Mauritania, any step toward military collaboration with Morocco is not a mere technical gesture or a routine protocol. It is a poisoned trap that could undermine our sovereignty itself.
More alarming still is the existence of a “fifth column” within our own institutions—spies wearing Mauritanian faces but harboring Moroccan allegiances. Their presence makes the challenge not only external but profoundly internal, threatening to corrode the very foundations of the state.
Take one symbolic example: when a Mauritanian officer receives a map that depicts Western Sahara as an annexed part of Morocco, it cannot be dismissed as a trivial detail. For a trained officer, attuned to symbols and strategic signals, overlooking such a “gift” is inconceivable—unless it reflects either a dangerous lack of competence and authority, or worse, an infiltration that compromises Mauritania’s principled position.
A Question of Sovereignty and Principle
Mauritania’s stance is crystal clear: positive neutrality coupled with recognition of the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination. Any deviation—whether by an individual officer or by an institution—from this principled line constitutes a direct assault on state sovereignty and on the coherence of our international position.
The danger does not lie in a single “gifted map,” but in the gradual infiltration of loyalties, the reshaping of mentalities, and the transformation of certain elites into apologists for Morocco’s—and by extension, Israel’s—regional agenda.
The Real Battle: Internal Cleansing and Strategic Vigilance
Mauritania’s most urgent battle today is not merely against an external adversary, but against the maroco-Zionist penetration that has seeped into our institutions. This demands resolute action: cleansing the house from within, strengthening national loyalty, and reinforcing mechanisms of oversight and deterrence.
This is not about a passing border dispute; it is a battle for sovereignty, for strategic consciousness, and for the very capacity of the state to safeguard its national memory and supreme interests.
A Note on Sahelian Geopolitics
It is worth noting that Mauritania’s diplomacy recently dismissed, with rightful disdain, the crude allegations spread by the TASS agency—that Ukraine is destabilizing the Sahel merely to counter Russia’s influence by flooding the region with weapons. The absurdity of these claims reflects the desperate quagmire in which Wagner’s mercenaries are trapped, seeking scapegoats instead of confronting the bitter truth: from the very beginning, the strategic, political, and security choices of the AES juntas were misguided—and outright suicidal.
