Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut Begins Official Visit to Algeria
By Dr. Hana Saada
Algeria welcomed Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut on Monday as he commenced an official state visit, leading a high-level delegation aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.
Upon arrival at Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers, Prime Minister Macut was formally received by Algeria’s Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb, accompanied by key ministers, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lounès Magramane, and Algeria’s Ambassador to Serbia, Mahrez Fateh.
According to an official statement from the Algerian Prime Minister’s office, the visit is designed to deepen friendship and cooperation between Algeria and the Republic of Serbia, with particular focus on consolidating economic collaboration and expanding investment opportunities. It is a continuation of both countries’ strategic efforts to enhance their mutual partnership across sectors of high economic and developmental significance.
The visit further reflects the shared political will of the Algerian and Serbian heads of state—President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and President Aleksandar Vučić—to elevate bilateral relations to a higher level. It underscores a commitment to enhanced coordination and consultation on issues of shared interest, including trade, infrastructure, and regional stability.
Experts suggest that such high-level diplomatic exchanges signal a broader vision for cooperation beyond traditional economic frameworks, encompassing cultural, technological, and strategic domains. The visit is expected to yield concrete agreements that will reinforce long-term collaboration and mutual growth, benefiting both nations’ citizens and private sectors alike.
