Algiers – September 2025 – In his first official statement following his appointment as Prime Minister, Sifi Ghrieb pledged unwavering commitment to serving the Algerian people and advancing the nation’s economy to the stature befitting Algeria’s role as a pivotal state regionally and internationally.
Speaking on Sunday after his audience with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who formally entrusted him with forming the new government, Ghrieb emphasized that the Head of State had issued “clear and comprehensive instructions” to prioritize the service of citizens and to spearhead the promotion of the national economy.
“The President of the Republic has provided all necessary guidance to ensure that, above all, we are devoted to the service of Algerian citizens, while working to elevate our national economy to the ranks worthy of Algeria as a central actor at both the regional and international levels,” Ghrieb declared.
Reaffirming his sense of duty, the Prime Minister assured that his government would operate with proximity and accountability, stressing that he and his ministerial team are fully committed to being present “on the ground” to respond directly to the needs of the population.
He further underscored that the new government would work in close consultation with all segments of society, stating: “We will engage every category and stratum of the nation in order to ensure that our policies reflect the aspirations of Algerians and serve the supreme interests of the country.”
