A memorandum of cooperation has been signed, Monday in Algiers, between the General Confederation of Algerian Enterprises (CGEA) and the Jordanian Chamber of Industry to consolidate economic relations between the two parties and double bilateral investments.

The agreement was initialed by the president of CGEA, Saïda Neghza, and the president of the two chambers of industry of Jordan and Amman, Fethi El-Jeghbir.

Neghza indicated that the memorandum aims “to raise the level of economic exchanges for an economic revival of the two countries”, affirming that this requires “the strengthening of cooperation in the various fields, in particular training, tourism and manufacturing and pharmaceutical industry as well as mining, agriculture and renewable energy sectors”.

She announced the organization of a meeting, next June, where more than 25 Jordanian businessmen will come to Algeria.

For his part, El Jeghbir, who also holds the position of President of the Jordanian Association of Small and Medium Industries, affirmed his commitment to “consolidating economic cooperation based on the principle of win-win between the two countries”, highlighting the opportunities for creating joint Algerian-Jordanian investments in the two countries.

He also said that the two organizations will cooperate in order to organize joint exhibitions as well as national weeks in the two countries, stressing the “necessity” of activating trade exchanges between the two countries because “each party is distinguished by industries that the other country does not have.”
