Solidarity_Industry: Mouloudji and Ghrieb Oversee the Launch in Tlemcen of an Intersectoral Partnership to Empower Homemakers through Industrial Integration

Algiers, Algeria– Tuesday, July 29, 2025 |  On Tuesday, in the province of Tlemcen, the Minister of Industry, Sifi Ghrieb, alongside the Minister of National Solidarity, Family, and Women’s Affairs, Soraya Mouloudji, presided over the official launch ceremony of the intersectoral cooperation agreement between the two ministries. This initiative is part of the national program aimed at economically empowering home-based women through integration into industrial sectors.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Solidarity, nearly 300 home-based women are set to benefit from subcontracting agreements with the Textile and Leather Group (GETEX), as well as industrial equipment provided by the Agri-Food Industries Group (AGRODIV).

The statement further noted that the initial phase of the national project will be implemented across seven pilot provinces, namely Tlemcen, Algiers, Tizi Ouzou, Béjaïa, Relizane, Batna, and Laghouat.

The project also includes the organization of training sessions focused on various techniques and skills to enhance the capacities of the women benefiting from this initiative, the statement added.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Soraya Mouloudji emphasized that, “The economic empowerment program for home-based women, which the Ministry has launched in coordination with its partners, chiefly the Ministry of Industry, has contributed significantly to strengthening women’s participation in the sustainable development process.”
