Sonatrach Extends Financial Support to 40 Associations and Sports Clubs in In Salah

Algiers – October 2025 – As part of its steadfast commitment to community development and social responsibility, Sonatrach Group has granted financial assistance to 40 associations and sports and youth clubs in the wilaya of In Salah, reaffirming its pivotal role as a national company devoted to promoting social cohesion and youth empowerment across Algeria’s southern regions.
The funding agreement, signed at the headquarters of the wilaya, falls within Sonatrach’s broad program dedicated to encouraging and supporting sports and youth organizations. The signing ceremony was attended by senior executives of Sonatrach, local authorities, representatives of beneficiary clubs and associations, as well as officials from the Directorate of Youth and Sports.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdelkader Bendjima, Wali of In Salah, expressed profound appreciation for Sonatrach’s ongoing efforts to accompany and stimulate various local sectors, particularly its contribution to the financing of social and developmental initiatives. He called upon the youth of the region to demonstrate commitment and perseverance in achieving remarkable athletic results and in enhancing the region’s representation on national platforms.
For his part, Ahmed Badjouda, Director of Youth and Sports of the wilaya, welcomed the initiative, stressing its importance in supporting diverse sporting disciplines practiced in the region, including equestrian sports, camel races, and women’s athletic activities.
The representatives of the beneficiary clubs and associations warmly welcomed Sonatrach’s contribution, emphasizing that it would help cover the financial needs of the ongoing sports season and strengthen the sustainability of local sports structures.
This initiative adds to a series of humanitarian and social actions previously undertaken by Sonatrach in the region. Among them were the donation of an all-terrain ambulance to the local health sector, the drilling of a potable water well for the inhabitants of In Ghar, and financial assistance to a local zaouia aimed at reviving its social and educational activities.
