Sonatrach, Pertamina Seal Three Strategic Service Agreements to Optimize Hydrocarbon Offtake Operations
Algiers – December 2025 – Sonatrach and the Indonesian energy company Pertamina signed, on Monday in Algiers, three major service agreements covering the offtake of crude oil, condensate and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) produced from the Menzel Ledjmet North (MLN – Block 405a) perimeter, Sonatrach announced in an official statement.
These agreements are concluded within the framework of the hydrocarbons contract governing the Menzel Ledjmet perimeter and are designed to enable Pertamina, as a partner, to dispose of its hydrocarbon entitlements under optimal operational and logistical conditions at Algerian loading ports. Under the terms of the contracts, Sonatrach will provide its technical expertise and specialized services in the planning, coordination and monitoring of the lifting operations for the quantities of crude oil, condensate and LPG allocated to Pertamina.
The newly signed service contracts reflect Sonatrach’s recognized know-how in managing complex offtake operations and ensuring efficiency, reliability and compliance with international standards throughout the supply chain, from production sites to export terminals.
The Menzel Ledjmet hydrocarbons contract was concluded in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 19-13 regulating hydrocarbons activities under Production Sharing Contract (PSC) arrangements. It entered into force on 7 January 2025 for a duration of 25 years and brings together Sonatrach, Pertamina and Repsol as strategic partners.
Through these agreements, Sonatrach and Pertamina further consolidate a long-standing commercial relationship spanning more than 24 years of uninterrupted cooperation in the hydrocarbons sector. This partnership has been marked by long-term purchase and sale contracts, as well as numerous spot transactions involving Saharan Blend crude, condensate and LPG.
