Tebboune, Al-Sissi Reaffirm Strategic Partnership and Shared Vision for the Arab World

Algiers – October 2025 – In a new testament to the strength of Algerian-Egyptian relations and their enduring role as pillars of Arab unity, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received, on Wednesday, a telephone call from his brother, President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The exchange, which reflected the spirit of mutual respect and historic fraternity binding the two nations, addressed the regional developments affecting the Arab and African spheres, as well as their repercussions on both peoples.
According to a communiqué issued by the Presidency of the Republic, the two Heads of State held an in-depth dialogue on the evolving situation in their regional environment, reaffirming their shared commitment to coordination and solidarity in addressing common challenges. Their discussion underscored the necessity of preserving regional stability and promoting Arab cooperation as a strategic imperative in a context marked by complex geopolitical transformations.
The conversation also reaffirmed the depth and vitality of the bilateral ties linking Algeria and Egypt—relations rooted in the intertwined history of their struggles for freedom, sovereignty, and the defense of Arab and Islamic causes. President Tebboune and President Al-Sissi agreed to intensify cooperation across all sectors, with a view to expanding the scope of strategic partnership between Algiers and Cairo in economic, political, and cultural domains.
A key outcome of the exchange was the mutual agreement to convene, in the near future, the next session of the Algerian-Egyptian High Joint Commission, an institutional mechanism dedicated to reinforcing bilateral collaboration and developing new frameworks for integration. Both leaders also expressed their readiness to undertake reciprocal high-level visits, aimed at further consolidating the values of fraternity and common struggle that unite the two nations.
During the call, President Tebboune extended his warm congratulations to President Al-Sissi and to the Egyptian people on Egypt’s election to the presidency of UNESCO, describing it as a “renewed international recognition of Egypt’s enduring cultural and civilizational influence.” The Algerian Head of State emphasized that Egypt’s leadership of this global organization will undoubtedly serve the interests of the broader international community, particularly through the promotion of education, science, and culture as instruments of peace and development.
