ALGIERS- Algerian Telecom Group (GTA) inked, yesterday at its headquarters in Bab Ezzouar (Algiers), a memorandum of understanding with the Algerian Red Crescent (CRA), aimed at strengthening and supporting the various actions of cooperation and solidarity between the two parties.

The MoU was signed by GTA CEO Khaled Zarat, and CRA President Ibtissem Hamlaoui. On this occasion, the CEO of GTA assured that solidarity actions are values “anchored” in Algerian society and centuries-old traditions of national institutions and civil society, believing that there is a need for “ creative”  energies  in society able to build the country and promote “good” deeds and volunteerism, to launch national initiatives. “For this reason, the Group has decided to sign this agreement with the CRA, which is the oldest humanitarian organization created during the glorious liberation revolution”, underlined Mr. Zarat.

For her part, the President of the CRA highlighted the activities of the organization as a “citizen” association which continuously participates in humanitarian and solidarity actions aimed at helping the most deprived Algerian citizens.

“The cooperation between our organization and the GTA will be of great contribution and enormous benefit to Algerian society. The GTA is one of the largest economic groups in the country. This agreement was not decided on a whim, but the two parties discussed at length to end up with this signature which will develop over time”, explained Ms. Hamlaoui, clarifying that one of her main objectives is the digitization of the CRA.

And to conclude: “This will be possible, thanks to the contribution and know-how of Algérie Télécom, whose teams are highly professional,” she aspired.
