ALGIERS-This morning, Abou El Fadl Baadji, the Secretary-General of the National Liberation Front Party, inaugurated the party’s 11th conference at the International Conferences Center. The event witnessed the presence of 6,000 delegates, signifying the significance of this gathering.
Baadji proudly announced that the conference had been named after Palestine, symbolizing the unwavering support of the FLN and Algerian people for Palestine. This decision was particularly poignant in light of the continuous aggression endured by Gaza for over a month.
During his address, Baadji emphasized the party’s commitment to renewal, drawing inspiration from the renowned poem “O Party Has Dissipated” by the poet Omar Azraj, who graced the conference with his presence.
Reflecting on the party’s journey, Baadji stated, “In the aftermath of the popular movement, we faced challenging times, but we persevered and achieved remarkable results in the elections, propelling us to the forefront.”
He further added, “We stood as an impenetrable barrier against those who advocated for consigning the future of our party to the annals of history.”
It is worth noting that the outgoing Secretary-General had previously announced his decision not to seek re-election for the position of General Secretariat. The conference attendees are eagerly anticipated to endorse Abdelkarim ben Moubarak as the new Secretary-General, following the election of the members of the Central Committee.
