ALGIERS- The Moroccan government, under the control of the ruling regime, has embarked on an aggressive capitalist policy targeting vital and strategic sectors of the Moroccan state. The indispensable support provided by the state to vulnerable population groups, including education, health, and essential public services such as water and electricity, is rapidly disappearing.

In recent weeks, the education sector has witnessed a prolonged strike by teachers, now in its sixth week with no clear resolution to the complex issues that triggered it. Frustrated by the lack of response from the central authorities, parents are now turning towards private education, fearing an uncertain fate for their children.

Under the iron grip imposed by the regime on the oppressed Moroccan people, impoverished families find themselves compelled to bear additional exorbitant costs to educate their children. This is a result of unwarranted obstinacy and indifference displayed by the central authorities in the regime, reflecting a lack of responsibility towards the Moroccan people.

As negotiations between unions and the regime reached an impasse, the authorities stubbornly refused to address the grievances of protesting teachers in the streets. They also showed a disregard for the concerns of parents affected by this prolonged strike, which threatens the country with the specter of a lost academic year. The regime seems indifferent, displaying a lack of responsibility and jeopardizing the educational system in the kingdom.

These irresponsible tactics reveal the regime’s ill intentions towards the Moroccan people, harboring malevolent plans that will jeopardize the current and future generations. The regime seems poised to pass a draconian plan aiming to privatize the education, health, and essential public service sectors. The common citizen will suffer as businessmen and private companies invade these sectors.

In the face of this ruthless adventure imposed by the regime on the Moroccan people, the vulnerable will lose the social protection that once existed.
