The Government examined, Wednesday, during its weekly meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, Aïmene Benadberrahmane, a preliminary draft of the Finance Law for 2023, indicates a press release from the Prime Minister’s office.
“The Minister of Finance has presented a draft of the Finance Law for 2023, in anticipation of its presentation at a future Council of Ministers”, specifies the same source.
The minister also “presented a draft executive decree setting the terms and conditions for granting exemption from Value Added Tax (VAT) for works of art, collectibles or antiquities, national heritage manuscripts sold to museums, public libraries, and manuscript and archival services,” the statement added.
This draft text “aims to encourage the owners of movable cultural property, considered as a heritage of the Nation, belonging to legal or natural persons, to transfer them exempt from VAT, to institutions such as museums, public libraries and the manuscripts and archives services which are authorized to preserve, restore, study and exhibit them to the general public.
