The government examined, during its weekly meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, Mr. Aïmene Benabderrahmane, the implementation of an energy mix strategy, indicate the services of the Prime Ministry in a press release.
“The State has initiated an in-depth reflection on the vectors for the introduction of the energy mix into the national energy system”, specifies the same source.
This reflection aims “to adapt to the changes experienced by the world energy scene as well as to the upheavals already made or expected both in terms of demand and supply of energy on the one hand, and to guarantee security and a transition energy meeting the requirements of economic development, on the other hand”, it is underlined in the communication presented by the Minister of Energy and Mines, during this meeting.
The approach also aims to “contribute to the country’s energy diversification, to preserve non-renewable conventional resources and to allow Algeria to access advanced technologies to ensure the country’s energy security in the long term”, according to the same source.
